Do Microfiber Hair Towels Work?
Drying my washed hair has always been nothing short of an ordeal; no one wanted to know the answer to do microfiber hair towels work more than me. I’ve always coveted hair that air dries naturally in no more than one hour and looks good for it. Unfortunately, my hair is the exact opposite of this. If I wash my shoulder-length hair in the morning, wrap it up in a cotton bath towel for 20 minutes and then proceed to let it air dry, it will still be incredibly damp come late evening. In fact, it can be guaranteed that it probably won’t be completely dry come midnight. Fair to say, that the porosity of my hair is off the charts.

Having decided that I was not too fond of microfiber as a material for unfounded reasons, I shied away from even wondering do microfiber hair towels work. It wasn’t until timing how long I actually spent on average using the hairdryer (a painful 40 minutes), that I realised something had to be done.
After researching online for quite a while, I decided to buy the Lisse Luxe Hair Turban in the colour Stormy Sky by Aquis. I’ve been using the wrap towel for several weeks now, so here is my official report.
Blow Drying Time Is Halved
I no longer have to attempt to hold the hairdryer, all whilst taking multiple breaks from exhaustion, for almost one hour. Instead, I wear the microfiber towel for roughly 20 minutes before finishing off with the dryer. At this point, my hair is damp rather than dripping wet, which proves just how absorbent this material really is. Microfiber is said to wick water out of the hair in a speedy fashion; this was never my experience with cotton towels.
Removing water from hair quickly is said to be important to maintain hair strength. If left wet for too long, over time, hair will become more brittle. It also goes without saying that your hair will thank you for less direct heat, and decreased hairdryer use is better for the planet (and your electricity bill).
Lightweight to Wear
When considering do microfiber hair towels work, this is a major plus point in my book. I’ve always struggled with the weight of damp cotton towels and the neck pain they induce; they’re altogether cumbersome to wear. The tugging sensation is also uncomfortable and is abrasive on your hair, leading to damage and split ends. The microfiber towel, however, is so incredibly light that you actually forget you’re wearing it. Lastly, for a moment, forget the question do microfiber hair towels work; they are undoubtedly a style statement.

Reduced Frizz
As you probably guessed by now, my hair is naturally dry, thick and frizzy. Low-maintenance hair it is not. Fortunately, I’ve enjoyed reduced frizz and altogether sleeker hair after using a microfiber hair wrap. The super-soft material means that there is a lack of friction, leading to less breakage. The majority of hairdryer users, I included, tend to underestimate the power of heat damage; it truly wreaks havoc over time.
So, Do Microfiber Hair Towels Work?
It’s safe to say that I am a convert. I don’t miss heavy, ineffective cotton towels one bit. Also, I love that my hair-drying routine is now somewhat lazier and more time-effective. There is a marked difference in my hair’s nature; it’s sleeker and a whole lot more swingy, not words that I would usually be able to use in this context. Here’s to easy, healthier and shinier hair going forward.

They’re so good! I didn’t buy one for a long while as I couldn’t see how they’d be that effective – turns out I was wrong. Thanks for reading, Jenny.
My hair doesn’t take super long to air dry, but I always have to make sure I don’t take a shower too late so my hair has time to dry. That’s great to know microfiber towels are effective & I definitely need to look into getting one!
Thank you for reading, Karalee! Even if your hair is less porous, they are still seriously handy and come with multiple benefits.
